The photos on the following pages were found in the photographic paper box pictured above which was located in attic of my grandmother. The prints, which are date stamped throughout the year of 1931, detail the construction of rail services and horticulture at rail stations in and around West London. I understand that most would have originally been shot on large-format glass plate negs. It is presumed that the photographs were given to my great-grandfather who worked in the rail industry at that time.
Nearly all of the prints are marked with a serial number either etched into the negative or recorded onto the reverse. I have used these serials to recreate the chronological order of the photos, whilst filling in a few blanks of those note serialised or dated. Where additional notes have been recorded on the reverse of the prints I have also represented these.
I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did discovering them.
